Privacy Policy

Rasika ("we", "our", or "the app") is a Carnatic music learning application. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and what choices you have. The short version: we do not collect personal information, we do not track you, and we do not sell data.

1. Information stored on your device

Rasika stores the following data locally on your device using your phone's built-in storage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party:

• Your selected language and level
• Lessons you have completed and your current progress
• Shruti box settings (pitch, timbre, breath speed)
• Your practice streak and completion count
• App theme preference (light or dark)

This data exists solely to remember your progress between sessions. It is deleted if you uninstall the app.

2. Content fetched from our servers

Lesson content, chapter information, and compositions are fetched from a read-only database hosted on Supabase (supabase.com). When the app loads this content, a standard network request is made. This request does not include any personal information, account details, or device identifiers beyond what any normal HTTPS request carries (such as your IP address).

We do not log or store these requests. The content is the same for every user.

3. Audio

The shruti box audio files are bundled inside the app and played entirely on your device. The app does not access your microphone at any point.

4. No accounts

Rasika does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.

5. No analytics or advertising

Rasika contains no advertising. We do not use any analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not know how many times you have opened the app, which screens you have visited, or how long your sessions last.

6. No data sharing or sale

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share any data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes. There is no data to share — we simply do not collect it.

7. Children

Rasika is suitable for users of all ages. Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, no special provisions for children are required under COPPA or similar laws. Parents can be confident the app does not gather information about their children.

8. Third-party services

The only external service the app communicates with is Supabase, used solely to deliver lesson and composition content. Supabase's own privacy practices are available at supabase.com/privacy.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
